Wilson Signs Antelope Valley Court District Bill
Gov. Pete Wilson on Wednesday signed a bill that allows for the creation of a separate Superior Court District in the Antelope Valley, the 12th such district in Los Angeles County and the first created in a decade.
The bill was introduced by freshman Assemblyman William J. (Pete) Knight, (R-Palmdale) who represents the Antelope and Santa Clarita valleys, and was sponsored by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, who in December approved the new court district.
It is hoped that the independent Antelope Valley district, called the North Superior Court District, will provide residents with improved service, Knight said.
Administrative services will continue to be provided from the North Valley District in San Fernando.
