PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Wilkerson’s Status Still Not Known
If starting right offensive tackle Bruce Wilkerson, who suffered a knee injury in the Raiders’ opening season victory over Minnesota, does not play Sunday at Seattle, veteran Ken Lanier will take his place.
“(Wilkerson) is getting better each day, but we still don’t know if he’ll be able to play,” Coach Art Shell said. “We’ll probably make a decision on him the day of the game.”
Lanier, a 13-year veteran from Florida State, signed with the Raiders as a free agent from Denver this past off-season and has played in 169 consecutive games. He was a starter for the Broncos for nine consecutive years from 1984-1992.
Reserve cornerback Torin Dorn, who starts in the Raiders’ nickel pass defense coverage, is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. If Dorn is unable to play, Dan Land will take his place.
