Field Goal With Three Seconds Left Lets Colts Win Kickers’ Duel, 9-6
A key defensive play by end Quentin Coryatt gave the Indianapolis Colts a 9-6 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday.
Coryatt hit Bengal quarterback David Klingler just as he released the ball, resulting in an interception, and Dean Biasucci turned it into a winning 42-yard field goal with three seconds remaining.
Coryatt hit Klingler at just the right moment to make the ball fly up into the air. It came down in cornerback John Baylor’s arms for the Bengals’ only turnover.
Biasucci won it four plays later.
Both offenses struggled in the face of stiff pass rushes, forcing them to match field goals.
Cincinnati’s Doug Pelfrey kicked a 35-yarder in the first quarter and a 23-yarder in the third.
Biasucci had a 53-yarder that barely cleared the crossbar in the second quarter, and a tying 31-yarder late in the third quarter.
