Man’s Beaten Body Found
Walkers on a dirt path near an elementary school Saturday morning found the body of a man who had been bludgeoned to death, authorities said.
The victim, Clifford Wayne Schwagmeyer, 35, apparently died from repeated blows to the head, said Deputy Angie McLaughlin of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The coroner’s office is expected to perform an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, she said.
The body was found about 9:30 a.m. near St. Mary School in the 1600 block of East Avenue R-4, McLaughlin said.
Authorities say they have established no motive for the beating and have no suspects in custody.
