Politicians Are There to Serve

Anaheim’s politicians and business leaders will toss aside their mantles of power for a night to serve as waiters at Yves Bistro Downtown.

The turnabout is intended to raise money for Paint Your Heart Out Anaheim, which refurbishes home exteriors for the poor or disabled. Among the waiters on hand Thursday, Oct. 7, will be Anaheim Mayor Tom Daly, Fire Chief Jeff Bowman and City Councilmen Fred Hunter, Irv Pickler and Frank Feldhaus.

Tickets for the five-course dinner, with wine, are $75 a person. Of that amount, $50 will go directly to the charity, organizers said.

Dinner includes a choice of three entrees: poulet marinere (grilled chicken breasts in a marinade of white wine, fresh herbs, diced tomatoes and artichoke hearts), poached salmon (poached in white wine and served with a light Dijon mustard sauce) or filet de boeuf aux champignons (a medallion of filet mignon served with a light Dijon mustard and mushroom sauce). For dessert, it’s creme brulee , tiramisu or chocolate raspberry cake.

The Chiavatti family, owners of three-year-old Pasta Presto in Tustin, has expanded its business to a second location in downtown Long Beach.
