ROUNDUP : Bongarra Leads Overtime Win

Sebastian Bongarra scored twice to lift the Master’s College to a 3-2 overtime soccer victory over George Fox College Wednesday at Portland, Ore.

The Mustangs (8-1-1) have won seven consecutive matches.

Justin Rivard scored in the third minute of the extra period to give the Bruins (7-3) a 2-1 lead. But Bongarra answered with goals in the eighth minute and 22nd minute of the 30-minute overtime to lead the come-from-behind victory.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Hart 9, Ventura 9 (77-76, Ventura in games)--Ventura (1-5) had the edge over the Indians (3-5) in singles. The difference in the nonleague match was Ventura’s No. 1 doubles team of Ursula Lehmenn and Beth Chrismen. The Cougar pair won by scores of 6-1, 6-1, 6-0, earning 16 points toward the tiebreaker.

HIGH SCHOOL WATER POLO

Crespi 17, St. John Bosco 7--Driver Rob Gram had six goals and hole man Jon Schild added four as Crespi routed St. John Bosco in a Mission League match.

Nordhoff 14, Cate 8--David Ford scored six goals and Spike Wessler had five to lead the Rangers (7-4, 2-0 league) past Cate in a Frontier League match at Nordhoff.

Nordhoff outscored Cate, 5-0, in the second quarter to take a 9-2 lead at the half.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Downtown Business d. Valley Alternative, 15-11, 15-9, 10-15, 15-13--Fifteen aces and eight kills by Anjum Aslam weren’t enough as Valley Alternative fell to host Downtown Business in four games in a Magnet League match.

Lilibeth Cardano contributed 12 aces and eight kills for Valley Alternative, which fell to 0-3, 0-1 in league play.

El Camino Real d. Reseda, 15-0, 15-4, 15-6--Jessica Dinaberg dominated with 17 kills as El Camino Real (6-0, 3-0) swept Reseda (0-6, 0-3) in a Northwest Valley Conference match at Reseda.
