In other Western State Conference games:

Bakersfield 57, Glendale 18--Running back Pathon Rucker was one of the few bright spots for the Vaqueros at Bakersfield, rushing for 178 yards and one touchdown in 25 carries against a team that had given up an average of 71.3 yards.

Bakersfield (4-0, 3-0), ranked sixth in the nation and fifth in the state, was led by freshman running back Jermaine Davis’ 158-yard, three-touchdown performance. Davis averaged 12.2 yards per carry to Rucker’s 7.1.

Rucker had 51 yards in 15 attempts before breaking loose with a 71-yard run in the third quarter that set up Glendale’s second touchdown, a one-yard plunge by Rucker, a Glendale High graduate.

Two area players figured in Bakersfield’s final touchdown when freshman quarterback Deon Price (two for two for 71 yards) of Sylmar and freshman receiver Tasheeri Walker of Van Nuys connected on a 60-yard touchdown pass play at 12:32 of the fourth quarter.

Glendale (1-3, 0-3) scored on its first possession by marching 79 yards in 12 plays, culminating in a 15-yard run by holder Dylan Washausen on a fake field-goal attempt.

The momentum shifted instantly when Acie George blocked Mike Sierra’s extra-point attempt and Ryan Renz returned it 91 yards to give Bakersfield two points.

Bakersfield quarterback Carl Dean carried 12 times for 108 yards including a two-yard touchdown, and completed 12 of 23 passes for 87 yards and one touchdown.

Glendale’s Chris Ray completed 12 of 23 for 87 yards and a five-yard touchdown to William Sively with 6:43 to play.
