In other nonleague games:
Montclair Prep 54, Murphy 20--Senior running back Wilbert Smith rushed 24 times for 244 yards and three touchdowns and added two punt returns for touchdowns to lead the Mounties (5-0) at St. Bernard High.
Smith, who scored on runs of 14, 14 and nine yards, also scored on returns of 82 and 77 yards. He increased his season totals to 1,208 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns.
Darrell Dent completed five of 10 passes for 59 yards and connected with Dorrick Roy for a 13-yard touchdown pass early in the first quarter. Dent, a junior, also rushed for a touchdown.
The win was the 24th straight for the Mounties, a Southern Section free-lance team.
Quarterback Danny Ragsdale completed 14 of 28 passes for 170 yards and three touchdown passes for Murphy (2-3). The Nobles, however, were limited to minus-eight rushing yards.
