Orange Lutheran 29, Pasadena La Salle 7--Quarterback Joe Juliano threw for a touchdown, ran for two more and led the team with 93 rushing yards as Orange Lutheran rolled in a nonleague game at La Canada High.

The Lancers (3-2) open Olympic League play on Friday against Ontario Christian.

In the second quarter, Juliano led Orange Lutheran on a 12-play, 95-yard scoring drive capped by his 18-yard pass to Tom Panell, who emerged from a group of defenders and then dragged one into the end zone.

La Salle was forced to punt on its next possession, but the snap went over the head of Jeff Hinton, who scrambled for the ball but was tackled by James Reid on La Salle 20. Two plays later, Juliano scored from the 15.

Matt Stratton scored for Orange Lutheran in the third quarter on a three-yard run.

La Salle scored at the start of the fourth quarter on a 36-yard pass to Tim Esquival from Ryan Rettig. Rettig completed nine of 19 for 80 yards and one interception.

Brandon Black kicked a 32-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter, and Juliano scored Orange Lutheran’s last touchdown on a four-yard run with 36 seconds left.

Orange Lutheran held La Salle (0-4 in its second year of varsity football) to zero rushing yards in the second half and 59 total.
