CLIPPERS : Grant Is Talking With Pacers

Guard Gary Grant, who became a free agent when the Clippers didn’t extend a qualifying offer of $1.47 million, is talking with the Indiana Pacers, who would reunite him with former Clipper coach Larry Brown.
“I think we’ve basically reached an impasse (with the Clippers),” said former Laker and Clipper guard Norm Nixon, Grant’s agent. “We’ve been talking to Indiana and two other teams.”

The Clippers waived free-agent guard Clifford Lett, who left training camp Monday night and told the team he was retiring.
Lett, 27, spent the last six years playing in the CBA. Lett’s departure leaves the Clippers with 17 players in camp.
