The Orange County cross-country championships take place Saturday at Irvine Regional Park, where more than 2,000 runners from nearly 50 schools will compete in the 27th annual event. Katella, the No. 1-ranked boys’ team in the county, and Corona del Mar, the No. 3-ranked girls’ team, will be on hand to defend their titles in the seeded races, which begin at 9 a.m. for the girls and 10:24 for the boys. The first varsity race begins at 8 a.m.
