San Marcos 27, Rio Mesa 18--San Marcos running back Aaron Molinar rushed for 338 yards in 27 carries to break the Santa Barbara County single-game rushing record. Molinar scored on runs of 79 and 25 yards.
Visiting Rio Mesa (4-3, 1-3) took a 12-7 lead when quarterback Steve Arneson (16 of 23, 187 yards, one interception) scored on a 60-yard option keeper with five minutes to play in the first half.
Rio Mesa’s John Espinoza rushed for 117 yards in 18 carries and scored on a 44-yard run.
