Matt Findlay rushed 32 times for 172 yards and two touchdowns to lead Calabasas High to a 23-16 victory over St. Bonaventure in a nonleague game Saturday at Ventura High.
Findlay, a senior running back, scored the deciding touchdown on a four-yard run with 5 minutes 35 seconds to play. Brian Goodheart intercepted a pass at the St. Bonaventure 21-yard line to stop a late drive and preserve the win.
St. Bonaventure (2-5) was paced by Jim Lyon’s two touchdown runs. Findlay’s two-yard touchdown run in the third quarter gave Calabasas (5-2) a 14-10 lead, but Lyon countered with a 21-yard scoring run to give St. Bonaventure a 16-14 lead.
