Man, 23, Wounded in Buena Park Shooting
Police responding to reports of an early morning gunfight Sunday found a 23-year-old man near death in a grassy area on Holder Street.
The victim, David Olivarria of Cypress, had been shot with a handgun and was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, police said. Hospital officials reported Olivarria in serious condition late Sunday.
Buena Park Police Sgt. Chris Bentley said few details about the shooting were available.
Bentley said police went to the Holder Street area, just south of Orange Avenue, about 5:30 a.m. when a caller reported shots being fired. Officers found the victim lying on the ground.
Bentley said police did not have a suspect in the case.
