Muir 24, Hoover 0--Sophomore quarterback Mike Hughes passed for two touchdowns and rushed for a third to lead the Mustangs to a Pacific League victory at Glendale High.
Hughes completed eight of 17 passes for 116 yards and rushed seven times for 29 yards, including a 16-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
Hughes connected with Adonis Harrison on a four-yard scoring pass at 8:07 of the second quarter to break a scoreless tie and then hit Dannett Johnson on a 19-yard touchdown play with 15 seconds left in the half as the Mustangs (6-2, 3-0) took a 14-0 halftime lead.
Hoover (0-7, 0-3) was held to 19 yards.
