Fire Victims Can Continue to Receive Mail

Share

“Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.” Herodotus expressed it, the New York City Post Office adopted it and now Southern California postal carriers are holding it dear.

Mail carriers are trying to deliver mail in all areas except those where homes and businesses were destroyed by fire. Thick smoke and fire lines may prevent them from reaching some areas.

Residents who live close to the fires in the 910 to 916 or 930 ZIP code areas can call the postal customer service center at (818) 757-2100 to ask about delivery or where to pick up mail. People whose homes are in the San Fernando Valley, Pasadena area or Ventura County can pick their mail up at their local post office, the U. S. Postal Service said.

Residents can go to the offices between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturdays.
