Dean Biasucci kicked a 37-yard field goal with 2:42 remaining Sunday, giving the Indianapolis Colts a 9-6 victory over New England in another game between these teams in which all the scoring was done by the kickers.

“I’ve always felt a kicker is a major part of the team,” Biasucci said. “Either way. He’s going to win some games, or he’s going to lose some games.

“He’s not any more important than an offensive lineman or anybody else, but he’s just as important as anybody else.”

The last 11 scores by Indianapolis and New England against each other have been field goals. Biasucci had two in a 6-0 Colt victory in their previous meeting last December.

And the last four scores in the game before that also were field goals, including the game-winner in overtime by the Patriots.

On Sunday, Biasucci kicked a 38-yarder earlier in the fourth quarter and a 27-yarder in the first quarter.

The Patriots (1-7) got two field goals by rookie Scott Sisson, but the Colts (3-4) forced three turnovers, including an interception by Ray Buchanan that stopped the last New England drive with 1:55 remaining.

The victory ended a three-game Indianapolis losing streak.
