Brea, Irvine Improvs to Offer Fire Relief
To help victims of the recent firestorms, the Improv comedy clubs in Brea and Irvine will donate $3 of every paid admission tonight and Sunday to the American Red Cross. Anyone with a pass will be asked for a $3 donation at the door.
Doug Benson of MTV will perform in Brea (945 E. Birch St.), and Rich Hall of “Sniglets” fame will be in Irvine (4255 Campus Drive). Tonight and Sunday were chosen because they are nonsmoking nights (get it?).
The idea “kind of came out of both clubs,” said Karean Sloan, general manager in Brea. “(People at) the Irvine club, especially, know families and friends who were affected. We just felt we needed to do this.” Sloan said the clubs will ask the Red Cross to earmark the funds for Orange County relief efforts.
Show times are 8:30 tonight and 8 p.m. Sunday. Information: (714) 854-5455 (Irvine), (714) 529-7878 (Brea).
