Men’s Volleyball

Cal State Northridge and UCLA will meet in an exhibition match after the UCLA-San Diego State women’s match tonight at Pauley Pavilion.

The rematch of last season’s NCAA Division I championship match will begin about 8:30 p.m. The Matador men’s team will be guided by former assistant coach Tim Koth and former All-American middle blocker Coley Kyman.

John Price, coach of both Northridge volleyball programs, will be with the women’s team playing a nonconference match at the University of San Diego.

Women’s Volleyball

The Master’s (35-11) will travel to Point Loma Nazarene for its first-round game in the NAIA District 3 playoffs at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The Mustangs, the fifth-seeded team in the tournament, lost to Point Loma in a four-game match on Oct. 12.

The Mustangs, who smashed the previous school record for victories in a season (21), will try to become the first women’s volleyball team in school history to advance past the first round of postseason play.

High School Cross-Country

The Thousand Oaks boys’ team and the Agoura girls have dropped to fifth and eighth in Harrier magazine’s national rankings, and the Hart boys have dropped out of the top 25 for the first time since 1989.

Thousand Oaks and Agoura each were ranked fourth in the previous poll.

Hart, the three-time defending state Division I boys’ champion, was ranked 15th in the previous poll.

Women’s Basketball

The Cal State Northridge women’s basketball program will hold a clinic Nov. 18 at Matador Gym for basketball players ages 10-17.

Matador Coach Kim Chandler and her staff will conduct the clinic. Registration is at noon, and the clinic will run from 1 to 5 p.m. Included is a Northridge women’s team scrimmage at 4 p.m.

Miscellany

Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks Babe Ruth League is holding registration for the 1994 season Saturday and Sunday at Sherman Oaks Park. Players must be between ages 13 and 15.
