COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE NATION : Sherrill Suspends 4 Bulldog Players
Mississippi State Coach Jackie Sherrill has suspended four football players, one of them charged with attempted rape.
Sherrill said he had talked to the players and other college officials and was taking “personal responsibility” concerning the indefinite suspensions.
Attempted rape charges have been filed against backup quarterback Derrick Taite. Freshman wide receiver Michael Brown faces aggravated assault charges. Senior backup quarterback Greg Plump and freshman wide receiver Gerald Daniels are charged with simple assault.
