Sierra Madre : Forum Tonight on Erosion
No homes were lost to fire in Sierra Madre, and city officials are determined to make sure none are lost to mudslides.
Officials are starting a public education program tonight with a televised forum on how to prevent erosion. City, county and U.S. Forest Service officials will explain how to prevent damage during winter rains.
The city will distribute a 35-page booklet on mudslides and excessive water flow to all who attend the forum. Handbooks also may be picked up at City Hall.
The forum will begin at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 232 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., and will be broadcast live on cable Channel 27 and rebroadcast at 4 p.m. Nov. 18 and 5:30 p.m. Nov. 20.
