Publisher Pledges Aid for Fire Victims

A Chatsworth publishing company has pledged 10% of its profits for November and December to the victims of the recent wildfires that ravaged the Southland, hoping to inspire other small businesses to do the same, a company spokeswoman said Thursday.

Anita Wright of Milt Wright and Associates Inc. said the company wants to help people who lost their business supplies and equipment in the fires from San Diego to Ventura County.

“We feel really strongly about employers helping employers,” Wright said. “We are very concerned that people have lost their jobs or the tools to continue their employment.”

Wright said the donation of about $10,000 from the company that publishes books and training videos for employers, will be donated to the Los Angeles Chapter’s Valley District of the American Red Cross.

“Our business is small,” Wright said. “But we wanted to do what we could to help.”
