HOLLYWOOD PARK : Meeting to be Spiced by Regular Simulcasts

Share

Hollywood Park’s 26-day fall meeting, highlighted by eight grass stakes worth $2.35 million, will open today with nine live races and a simulcast race from Bay Meadows.

During a season that runs through Dec. 20, Hollywood Park plans to simulcast races from Bay Meadows on a regular basis. Legislation passed this year permits tracks to bring in races that are worth at least $20,000.

Hollywood’s first major grass race will be Saturday’s $400,000 Hollywood Derby. Also on the card is the $200,000 Turf Express. The $400,000 Matriarch will be run on Nov. 28 and the $500,000 Hollywood Turf Cup is scheduled for Dec. 12. The $500,000 Hollywood Futurity, set for Dec. 19, is the meet’s richest dirt race.
