OUTLOOK

Eight new players make their debut for Markum, who is also starting his first year as a varsity head coach. Jennings heads the list of nine seniors, one junior and a sophomore who will try to win games with a well-balanced, ball-control style of offense that hopes to keep the score in the 40s. Jennings, the lone returning starter for the Eagles, is a potential all-league point guard who will be the first four-year starter in Capistrano Valley Christian history. Floerke came off the bench last season and will be asked to provide some scoring from the off-guard position. Bishop brings strong defensive skills to the back court, also. However, size up front could be a glaring weakness as no player is taller than 6-3. Markum said he thinks it will be tough to improve on the second-place finish of a season ago. An early indicator of the Eagles' talent will be the Laguna Hills and Bell-Jeff tournaments, which Capistrano Valley Christian won last year.
