Gratitude for Firefighters
* My back yard is a daily reminder of the recent Green Meadow fire. When people ask me about the fire, the first thing I have to tell them is that the firefighters saved the homes on Deer Ridge.
It was not until I was in the midst of intense heat, smoke and flames that I truly appreciated the bravery and dedication of the firefighters. Not a day has gone by since Oct. 27 that I haven’t thought to myself, or said to someone else, “Thank God for the firefighters who truly risked their lives and saved our homes.”
