Pasadena : Eaton Center Fund-Raiser
A fund-raiser is planned Friday to help rebuild the Eaton Canyon Nature Center, destroyed in the Altadena fire Oct. 27.
The party, sponsored by the San Marino-South Pasadena Board of Realtors and Pasadena Assn. of Realtors, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. in a San Marino home at 1779 Lombardy Road that was designed by architect George Washington Smith.
A $20 donation is suggested. Food will be provided by nine local restaurants, and a seven-piece band will perform in the ballroom. A silent auction will also be held. For more information, call (818) 449-5222 or 793-8111.
Los Angeles County is expected to pay for part of the reconstruction of the nature center, but center officials say a partnership of public and private money is needed to ensure rebuilding.
