TOPANGA : Homeowners Get Help on Preventing Erosion Damage
The U.S. Soil Conservation Service is providing free advice to Topanga and Malibu homeowners on ways to shore up their homes against possible erosion damage that resulted from the recent fires.
Teams of specialists have mobilized to visit with nearly 500 homeowners whose properties may need land rehabilitation. Treatment recommendations include straw-mulching, drainage control, seeding, diversion ditches, sandbag barriers and creating fuel breaks in wooded areas.
Landowners can request assistance by calling the (818) 222-4750.
