OUTLOOK

Katz thinks Tamamasui, Farroux and Schult comprise the best inside combination in the county. “No doubt about it,” he said. Add to that Young, who didn’t play last year but led the varsity in rebounding as a sophomore, including a school-record 15 in one game, and you recognize the team strength. That inside play will be physical, too. Tamamasui is a shotputter who can throw her weight around, and she’s even better than last season, when she averaged 11 rebounds in her first year of playing. All three post players are mobile and can play defense. Farroux is being recruited by the University of the Pacific and Cal State Fullerton; Schult is the team’s most-improved player from a year ago. Although the guards are short, they’re quick, have a nice shooting touch and most are second- or third-year varsity players. Kavan is the school record-holder for three-point baskets. “Other teams have to defend us,” Katz said emphatically. “We’ve got good shooting, mobility, team defense, quick guards, size.” Sounds like they have it all.
