Hearing for Harbor Football Player Postponed Until Jan. 4
The trial of Harbor College wide receiver Dion Mills, who was charged with one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly striking a Pierce assistant coach over the head with an aluminum crutch during a postgame brawl between the teams Sept. 25, has been postponed again.
A preliminary hearing had been set for Tuesday, but the date was postponed until Jan. 4 after a motion by Walter Urban, Mills’ attorney.
Mills, 19, was arraigned in San Pedro Municipal Court on Dec. 10 after several postponements and pleaded not guilty.
Mills, who was suspended from the team after the incident, is free on $35,000 bail.
