In the Marina tournament:

Fountain Valley 50, El Dorado 38--Nicole Strange scored 14 points, Jennifer Ludwicki had nine and Erin Avila added eight to lead Fountain Valley (5-3) in the first round.

Jamie Sweet scored a game-high 15 points, including two three-pointers, for El Dorado (5-2), the 10th-ranked team in the county. Fountain Valley will play Marina in the quarterfinals at 8:30 tonight.

Rancho Alamitos 58, San Diego Morse 51--Akilah Rodgers, a senior forward, tied her season high with 30 points and also had 21 rebounds for Rancho Alamitos (6-3).

In the Cavalier Classic:

Edison 50, Canyon 45--Edison scored the last five points of the game to pull out the victory. Sophomore Marie Philman had 25 points, including four in the last minute, and 13 rebounds for Edison (6-2).

El Modena 59, Corona del Mar 51--Kristi Bolle scored 16 points and Jamie Shine added 13 points and 15 rebounds for El Modena (2-6).

In the Western Big A Classic:

Santa Ana 55, Arrowhead Christian 45--Nancy Love scored 24 points, had eight rebounds, six steals and two blocks to lead Santa Ana. Santa Ana (6-2) plays Western in the second round today.

In the Laguna Beach tournament:

Laguna Hills 48, Calvary Chapel 46 (OT)--Camrin Christensen made a five-footer with two seconds left in overtime for Laguna Hills (6-4).

In nonleague:

University 66, Atascadero 34--Jennifer Stanley scored a game-high 28 points, Alyssa Cross added 11 and Heather Snavely had eight points, including two three-pointers, and 10 assists to lead University (5-2).
