ANAHEIM : 1 Resident Injured in Mobile Home Fire
A 48-year-old man was treated for smoke inhalation early Tuesday after a fire broke out in the bedroom of his mobile home and spread to the attic, fire officials said.
The fire broke out about 3:30 in a coach parked in the Friendly Village Mobile Home Park, 5815 E. La Palma Ave., said Anaheim Fire Division Chief Steve Magliocco.
The blaze, which took 22 firefighters 30 minutes to bring under control, caused about $40,000 in damage to the mobile home and destroyed an estimated $20,000 in contents.
“The mobile home was well involved by the time firefighters arrived,” Magliocco said. “There was a lot of fire. Mobile homes traditionally keep fire in so they burn pretty hot, almost like little furnaces.”
The resident, whose name was not released, was treated at Kaiser Permanente Hospital-Orange County in Anaheim.
“He is doing fine and it doesn’t look like there will be any long-term problems,” Magliocco said.
The fire, which remains under investigation, did not damage any other homes in the park.
