JUST THE FACTS : Trying New Ways to Book Trips

Share

Although most travelers use travel agents or call direct to hotels ad airlines when they plan vacations, a number are willing to try something new. That’s according to a telephone survey by the U.S. Travel Data Center. For example, only 3% of 1,500 respondents said they had used on-line computer services to make trip arrangements, but 12% may try them in the future. Two percent said they had used travel services offered by retail stores, but 10% thought that might be the way to go someday. And although only 1% had dabbled with simulated travel experiences, referred to as “virtual reality”, 11% might in the future. Other survey results are in the chart.
