A Ventura branch of Great Western Bank was robbed Tuesday by a man wearing mirrored sunglasses and sporting a neatly groomed full beard and mustache.
Police said there were no other customers inside the bank on South Mills Road when the robbery occurred at 12:50 p.m.
The suspect approached a teller and gave her a demand note that had been hidden in a file folder. After she gave him money, the suspect left the bank. No weapon was seen and no one was hurt.
Witnesses described the suspect as a white male with salt-and-pepper hair and beard, 40 to 43 years old, nearly 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He was wearing a long-sleeve turquoise jersey T-shirt with a white stripe and jeans, said FBI Special Agent John Kirk.
Authorities have no suspects, but they believe pictures from the bank’s surveillance camera may help to identify the robber.
