SOUTH-CENTRAL : $1-Million Market Blaze Investigated
Fire officials are investigating a blaze at the Family Farm Market that caused more than $1 million worth of damage and injured three people.
“The building was heavily damaged,” said Jim Wells, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department. “There was heavy smoke by the time firefighters arrived.”
The blaze at 4322 S. Central Ave. began shortly before 9:42 p.m. Jan. 9 at the one-story building.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries and one woman was treated at the scene for minor respiratory problems, said Jim Wells, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Wells said the fire was being investigated as an independent incident and declined to say where the fire began.
