Mission Viejo High School Principal Robert Metz will be the district’s director of secondary education. Metz will be responsible for instruction at the district’s four high schools, four intermediate schools and the continuation school.

The trustees last week also approved the appointment of George Diedrich as principal of Trabuco Hills High School. Currently principal of South High School in Denver, Diedrich was selected from a field of 40 candidates from around the nation.

He has a master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Colorado and has been an educator in that state since 1967, the last 13 as a principal.

Diedrich will take the Trabuco Hills High post on April 11.
