San Francisco 101, Loyola Marymount 86--Gerald Walker’s 20 points and Art Wallace’s 19 points and 23 rebounds led the University of San Francisco to a West Coast Conference victory.
The Dons, 9-5 overall and 1-2 in the WCC, ran away with the victory despite Wyking Jones’ 39 points and 16 rebounds for the Lions (1-13, 0-3).
Pacific 73, UC Irvine 71--Irvine’s DeForrest Boyer missed a falling-down, six-foot shot as time ran out and Pacific held on for a Big West victory in front of 1,731 in the Bren Center.
The Anteaters, 5-8 and 2-3 in Big West, led by 16 early, were outscored, 23-0, midway through the game, fought back from a 10-point deficit with 3:42 to go and had the ball in Boyer’s hands underneath the basket, trailing by two with 2.3 seconds remaining.
