Go For Gin Wins the Preview Stakes

Jerry Bailey brought Go For Gin from off the pace to win the $75,000 Preview Stakes at Gulfstream by 3 1/2 lengths on Saturday.

Carrying 119 pounds, Go For Gin started out third and took command at the eighth pole. Halo’s Image was second by a length over Senor Conquistador.

Go For Gin was timed in 1:41 3/5 for 1 1/16 miles, paying $3.40, $2.20 and $2.10. Halo’s Image paid $2.60 and $2.40. Senor Conquistador returned $2.80.

Go For Gin, a 3-year-old Kentucky-bred son of Cormorant, made six starts in his campaign as a 2-year-old, closing it with three consecutive victories.
