MOORPARK : Higher Tierra Rejada Speed Limit OKd
The Moorpark City Council has decided to raise the speed limit on Tierra Rejada Road from 40 m.p.h. to 45 m.p.h. between Spring Road and the Moorpark Freeway, given recent improvements and expansion of the road.
The council voted 4 to 0 last week to increase the speed on the road, which was recently converted from an aging, two-lane stretch to a newly paved, four-lane divided highway.
“With the new and improved road service and an expanded number of lanes, people can safely travel faster on that road,” Councilman Scott Montgomery said.
Concerned by the road’s former condition, council members voted about two years ago to reduce the speed from 45 m.p.h. to 40 m.p.h.
