Basketball coach Dean Bradshaw of Simi Valley High, who was involved in an on-court altercation with a player, will probably not be allowed to coach the Pioneers if the team plays its scheduled game Wednesday at Royal, Simi Valley Athletic Director George Ragsdale said Monday evening.

If Bradshaw is prohibited from leading the team, junior varsity coach Steve Johnson and sophomore coach Christian Aurand would share coaching duties.

“(Bradshaw) is suspended until we have an outcome, and I don’t think we’re going to get anything resolved by (Wednesday),” Ragsdale said. “I’m not sure if we’ll have anything settled before the middle of next week.

“We’d hoped to bring this to a head in a timely fashion, but we haven’t been able to get all the people together because of the earthquake.”

Bradshaw pushed senior guard Sam Rodriguez, a reserve, in anger late in the fourth quarter of the Pioneers’ 51-44 victory over Westlake during a Marmonte League game Jan. 14.
