A federal class-action lawsuit filed by 12 female athletes at Virginia Tech accuses the university of discriminating against them by denying female sports clubs varsity status.
The other plaintiffs are members of the women’s softball, lacrosse and crew clubs. The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in Roanoke by the National Women’s Law Center.
