* Salvation Army Santa Monica provides meals, groceries, cleaning supplies, motel/restaurant vouchers for victims with condemned houses and other emergency assistance. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (310) 451-1358.

RECOVERING BELONGINGS

* In Santa Monica: Some occupants of red-tagged buildings will be able to retrieve a few belongings today and Friday with the help of city disaster workers. For information on the service, call (310) 458-4611. Do not enter red- or yellow-tagged buildings on your own.

COLLEGES / UNIVERSITIES

* Los Angeles Community College: Class schedules and services modified. Call (213) 669-4000

* Pepperdine University: no damage.

* Santa Monica College: Call (310) 450-5150 for taped information. Classes have resumed despite significant damage to campus buildings. Employee volunteers are stationed at the science, liberal arts and business buildings to direct students to new class locations. Winter session will end a week later than normal Feb. 17. Spring session will start Feb. 21 instead of Feb. 14.
