FILLMORE : Teen-Age Boy Pleads Not Guilty in Slaying

Share

Making his first appearance in adult court, a 16-year-old boy pleaded not guilty Friday to a charge that he fatally stabbed a Fillmore man last month.

Judge Allan Steele set an April 25 trial for Armando Murillo of Fillmore.

Murillo is being held in Juvenile Hall in lieu of $250,000 bail. He is charged with murder in the stabbing death of Rodolfo Molina Mora, 27. The victim died after an altercation in the 700 block of Blaine Street in Fillmore on Dec. 11.

A judge ruled last month that Murillo should be tried as an adult. Prosecutors have argued that Murillo is incapable of being rehabilitated in the state’s juvenile system. They say he has an extensive juvenile record and they say Mora died in a particularly violent way.
