Quake Aid : A Resource Guide

VOLUNTEERS

The Volunteer Reception Center is seeking help in earthquake aid activities, including bilingual assistance, clerical work and debris cleanup. If interested call (800) 908-5170.

GUIDANCE

Friends of Sunset Park will sponsor a free earthquake recovery seminar from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The seminar will be held at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 14th Street and Ocean Park Boulevard, Santa Monica.

Topics include “Your Finances,” “Consumer Protection and Landlord/Tenant Rights” and “Repairing and Rebuilding.”

FUND-RAISERS

* Tonino and Bruno Morra, owners of Toto Caffe, will hold an “All-Day Pizza Party” to raise money for the American Red Cross and earthquake victims from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $20 and include soup or salad, pizza and a drink. Toto Caffe is at 11047 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles. Information: (310) 312-6664.

* Back on Broadway Restaurant will hold a Valentine’s Day dinner to benefit the Santa Monica chapter of the American Red Cross.

The fixed menu dinner is $25. The restaurant, at 2024 Broadway in Santa Monica, will serve from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday. Reservations are suggested. Call (310) 453-8919.

DAMAGE

The University of Judaism’s Platt Gallery and Gindi Auditorium will remain closed until earthquake damage is repaired.

Commuter Transportation Services Inc. provides free car-pool matching services; road closure information and route alternatives; contact numbers for van-pool seats, and public transit information.
