If it was Dominique Wilkins’ final night in an Atlanta Hawk uniform, he went out in style.

The Seattle SuperSonics probably wished if he was going to be traded, why hadn’t the process been rushed along a little quicker?

Wilkins, rumored going several places before tonight’s trading deadline, went to the basket in the fourth quarter in Atlanta, scoring nine points in a 19-0 run in a 99-92 victory over Seattle.

“We let them wake up, and they did,” Seattle Coach George Karl said after watching his team blow a 13-point fourth-quarter lead to Wilkins, Mookie Blaylock and Craig Ehlo, who scored all 19 points in the rally.

Gary Payton led the SuperSonics with 23 points.

“It was a very emotional win,” said Wilkins, who can be a free agent at the end of the season.

“Whatever happens happens,” he said. “Whatever way it goes, I’ll be in a great situation. It’s been a big distraction for me and, I think, the team as well.”

Utah 106, San Antonio 102--The Spurs’ franchise-record 13-game winning streak came to an end as Karl Malone and John Stockton each scored 31 points for the Jazz in a double-overtime victory at Salt Lake City.

It was the Spurs’ first loss since Jan. 20 and their third loss in as many games against Utah.

Stockton and Jeff Malone each scored six points in the second overtime, and Utah took the lead for good on a layup by Stockton that made it 97-95.

David Robinson led San Antonio with 25 points and 16 rebounds. Dale Ellis scored 15 points, including a three-pointer with 6.2 seconds left in regulation that sent the game into overtime.

Reggie Williams finished with 18 points and Mutombo and Bryant Stith each scored 16 for Denver, which won for the fourth time in five games.

Rick Fox led the Celtics with 20 points, Sherman Douglas had 17, Dino Radja 16 and Acie Earl 15.

O’Neal banged knees with Indiana’s Derrick McKey just before halftime and lay sprawled on the court for three minutes. After X-rays showed no injury, O’Neal returned to the game early in the third quarter.

The Pacers were not so fortunate. The team also lost its first-round draft pick, Scott Haskin, to a knee injury in the opening period. He did not return and will be examined in Indianapolis today.

Cleveland 106, Washington 96--Mark Price scored 22 points and sparked a third-quarter run at Landover, Md., that sent the Cavaliers to their fourth consecutive victory.
