Coach: Tim Mang (second year).
1993: 22-2, 14-0 in the Sea View League, lost in Division I semifinals to Palos Verdes Peninsula, 11-7.
Key returners: Paul Fruchbom, Sr., will play No. 1 doubles; Doug Smith, Sr., will play doubles; Jed Weinstein, Sr., will play No. 1 or No. 2 singles, advanced to individual doubles semifinals last year.
Key newcomers: Greg Coleman, Fr., will play doubles; Mike Feyka, Jr., will play No. 2 doubles with Raj Shukla, So.; Tyler Stonebreaker, So., a transfer from Mater Dei, will play No. 1 or No. 2 singles; Roberto Intriago, Sr., Ecuador; had been nationally ranked in Ecuador before he stopped playing for three years, will probably play doubles; James Stauffer, Fr., will play No. 3 singles.
Outlook: The Sea Kings lost nearly everyone from last year, but Mang always seems to come up with a few surprise additions every season. This year, he found Intriago and Stonebreaker on his door step. “Nothing’s going to be better than the two doubles teams I had last year, but I’m looking for Jed and Tyler to replace Trenton (Rhodes) and Bryan (Walden) at singles,” he said.
