After an eight-year absence, Elvis Presley returned to TV in the now-legendary special Elvis ’68 (Wednesday at 10 p.m. on the Disney Channel).

Check out the early work of Oscar-nominated Tommy Lee Jones of “The Fugitive” in two acclaimed miniseries: 1977’s The Amazing Howard Hughes (Thursday at 5:50 p.m. on TBS), followed at 8:05 p.m. by 1982’s The Executioner’s Song, in which Jones plays convicted murderer Gary Gilmore.
