Oxnard police are investigating an early morning gunfight outside a fast-food restaurant that left two men injured, one of them critically, authorities said.

The shooting occurred about 3 a.m. Thursday at Del Taco in the 500 block of South Ventura Road, but both victims were found elsewhere, police said.

Travon Lanell Netherly, 25, of Los Angeles was discovered bleeding in his car after his companion, 23-year-old Darrin Johnson of Los Angeles, hailed firefighters.

Netherly, who was shot in the chest, was listed in serious but stable condition Friday at St. John’s Regional Medical Center.

The second victim, Eric Pantoja, 23, of Oxnard, was found bleeding at a relative’s apartment near the restaurant. He was listed in fair condition at St. John’s with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, but police said his wound was not life-threatening.

Sgt. Charles Dunham said police believe Pantoja was meeting with Johnson and Netherly when the men had a disagreement and shots were fired. Police found a .380-caliber handgun registered to Netherly in Netherly’s car.

No arrests have been made, and Dunham said none of the three people involved is cooperating with investigators.
