COMMUNITY COLLEGE BASEBALL : Rancho Santiago Advances at Tournament

Kirk Irvine pitched a seven-hitter as Rancho Santiago beat the Cal Lutheran junior varsity, 9-1, Tuesday in the first round of the Channel Coast tournament at Moorpark College.

Irvine, a freshman right-hander, had 11 strikeouts and no walks. The run he allowed in the ninth was unearned.

Brian Martineau had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in two runs for the Dons (19-6). Corey Doll had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs for Rancho Santiago.
