AirTouch Returning to San Francisco: PacTel Corp.’s new spinoff company, AirTouch Communications, said it is relocating its headquarters to San Francisco three years after it left the city because of high rents. The company, which specializes in wireless communications, will lease 150,000 square feet in the 32-story Mutual Benefit Life Building at 1 California St. About 250 former PacTel employees who moved to Walnut Creek in 1991 will return to San Francisco. About 300 workers will stay in Walnut Creek.
