Michael Jordan took off to get treatment for his hyper-extended right knee and clean out his spring training locker in preparation for his new life in the minors.

Jordan, 31, was assigned by the Chicago White Sox to double-A Birmingham on Thursday. He was expected to take batting practice with the minor league team early today at the White Sox complex, then fly to Chicago to spend Easter with his family.

Jordan will play in the Windy City Classic in Chicago on Thursday when the White Sox face the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, then join the Barons the next day.
